Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) users should be advised that Microsoft Lync is best used to coordinate across DHS for internal, government administration purposes, (e.g., for telework coordination meetings, Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings, working group meetings, Executive Steering Committee (ESC) meetings, and other staff functions). Microsoft Lync will replace Microsoft Office Communicator and Microsoft Office Live Meeting for instant messaging, desktop sharing, and video conferencing.
